Niijima 02

Well I have decided to make it a series and will post a few image of my surfing trip to the remote Island south of Tokyo.
I did spend most of my time surfing so not too many images to post but enough to make a series.
Anyway I hope you enjoy it.
This image I have discovered a new PP technique which I hope to work on some more with higher quality image in the near future.
What do you think?

The original image was actually quite gloomy and not very bright.

I'm not so sure about the pp for this particular image, but the view is fantastic! I never knew there were surfing beaches in Japan! The water looks a bit dirty for diving, but makes for great pictures!

@Bronnie: Yeah I pushed it a little too far but did now know not to do it so far. It was a great view and the visibilty in the water here is great for diving its just that this particular day was really windy and overcast. Visibility is usually around 15-20m which is quite good enough similar to visibilty in Cairns GBR

well,Darren,I think that is a little bit of Over-PP,it would looks better with more originality preserved....It is a beautiful scenery though,and have to say great job on this image ! =)

@Kheoh Yee Wei: No worries mate, I knew I was going to twist a few heads with this one but I'm glad people are being honest and not just saying the images are goo just for the sake of it. It's a lovely place mate. More to come over the next few days with less extreme processing.

Colour blind from Tokyo, Japan

Looks like a painting mate. I love the view and I think you've pushed the boundaries of the pp. I would love to see this as the original. Without experimentation how can we learn right!! Keep it up I reckon.

I like this image, even though it's dark and overcast for the most part the bits of sun highlighting the breaking waves and portions of the beach work out well at bringing the focus to those areas.

Great technique mate, is this using a Gaussian blur overlay? It works very well, especially on the sky where it brings out the darker tones really well. As always you've photographed the scene very well, you have a real knack for these landscape shots!
