Bronnie from Christchurch, New ZealandI love the lighting in this - evening? or just overcast and smoggy? I wonder why the poor boat is lying there, unemployed...abandoned. 5 Feb 2007 8:21am @Bronnie: Thanks Bronnie. Manuela Photography from Hainburg (near Frankfurt/Main), GermanyThis photo offers a story and many questions! Lovely light and atmosphere. 5 Feb 2007 8:34am @Manuela Photography: Thanks Manuela. Suby from Milton Keynes, United KingdomDarren, I love this shot, love the tones and and the lighting, very picture perfect with the boat. Lovely Suby 5 Feb 2007 10:38am @Suby: Thanks Suby. Helen from Melbourne, AustraliaFabulous. I can picture this in a sailing club or on surgery walls. 5 Feb 2007 11:33am @Helen: Thanks Helen. @Pero: Thanks Pero. Shuva Brata Deb from Hyderabad, IndiaI find it a little dark....Was that intentional? 5 Feb 2007 12:58pm @Shuva Brata Deb: It is a little dark. The original is really bright but I felt it needed to be darkened to gove the feeling of abandoned. I've had a few dark images of recent, I might start to post a few bright ones after tomorrows. Jen from United StatesI really love the composition of the photo, the way you've framed it my eyes are moving all over the picture. I love the tones and textures too. Very nice job Darren! 5 Feb 2007 1:56pm @Jen: Thanks Jen. @Still: Thanks Still. @Jerry: Thanks Jerry. Duncan Galbraith from kyoto, JapanHey man. Love the treatment, very subtle. An astute choice. 5 Feb 2007 5:12pm @Duncan Galbraith: Thanks Duncs. adalove from Alcala de Guadaira, SpainReally a good second one! I don´t know which to choose... Very good done and thought! 5 Feb 2007 8:03pm @adalove: Thanks Adalove. Chris Sullivan from Melbourne, AustraliaAnother great shot mate, treatments is spot-on again; this one has more of a sense of nostalgia about it. Great little series. Sorry about not responding to your question, I removed the image and then uploaded again and the comment went a bit strange when I checked this morning - I didn't know the guy in the shot, just one of the people who hand out Socialist-Weekly newspapers outside the Nike store on Friday evenings. Haha see what I mean *login-logout* ? 5 Feb 2007 9:00pm @Chris Sullivan: Thanks Chris. Nostaligia seems to be the feeling a few people are getting from this image, maybe I should change the title to Arakawa Nostalgia. jennifer radio from United StatesThis reminds me of something you would see at an Art Museaum. Beautiful work. 5 Feb 2007 9:19pm @jennifer radio: Maybe not that beautiful. Thanks for your support Jennifer. Michael Zhang from New York City, United StatesUnusual subject in that field! The gloomy lighting in the background contrasts well with the whiteness of the boat's belly. 6 Feb 2007 1:20am shiqi from Singapore, SingaporeThis is a really great photo! sort of lets the viewer think about what the photographer was thinking when taking the photo? childhood? abandoned? nice shot that jolts thoughts.
