Okinawa 05

This is number 5. Maybe 2 more to the series.
This tunnel is on the mainland of Okinawa. It use to be the Japanese Naval base during the war, it has a very strange feeling inside when you know how many people died there.
Let there be peace, that's all I can say.
Anyway had to play with this image a fair bit to get my desired result as it was a pretty bad image to start with due to lack of light in this tunnel.

I wasn't going to post this one but decided that I had to for some reason to give everyone a true look of what Okinawa is.

After reading your caption I'm starting to get an eerie feeling from the image myself. I find taking shots in dark conditions difficult too so you did a fine job in making it come out as well as you did. Nicely done mate.....and thanks for your kind comments!
Definitely with you on the "peace" thing too.

@Stu: It was a pretty eerie place mate. They also have stories in different locations in the network of tunnels. Some places you can actually see shrapnel embedded in the walls with areas without due to the person shielding the wall. It makes you realize that its more than what you see on the TV.

Mate if there was a little white shadow in the middle at the end of the the tunnel that would have topped this photo right off. It does show a lot of scary feelings espcially with the blurred and almost old film grain that was used. I wouldn't want to be down there by myself.

@Colour blind: I added the grain mate to help compensate for the blur. It is a pretty freaky place, you should've seen Scotty mate.

Arresting image. People were not meant to live and die like this. To the post processing, I can only say that making it a touch darker might help the mood a bit even if it was bright like this in real life. Hard to say though; I'll take your word that you did what you could.

I agree with everyone above. A very eerie, yet provoking image. I tend to think that the blur works very well in this photo; leads me to think of the off-putting senseless mess that's war. Nice one mate.
